
In a late-night incident that shook the normally quiet Philadelphia neighborhood, a woman was kidnapped while asleep in her vehicle on the 8XX block of East Allegheny Avenue. The abduction, which occurred on Monday, March 4, 2024, shortly before 2 a.m., prompted a swift police response and an urgent plea to the public as authorities began their frenzied search for the suspect.
The stolen vehicle, a 2012 silver Buick Verona with Delaware tag # 323204, was operated by an unknown individual who decided to quickly flee northbound on the 3200 block of G Street, along with the unsuspecting 34-year-old white female inside. The victim has since been found and is reported to be in good condition, alas, the Philadelphia Police Department continues to vigorously search for the vehicle, the police blotter noted.
The suspect has been described as a male with a thin build and a light complexion, with his identity obscured by a mask, further clad in a black puffy jacket, hood up, and black pants. In the aftermath of the uncomfortable event, the Special Victims Unit is tirelessly working on the case, delving into leads and surveillance footage in an active and ongoing investigation.
Police are calling upon anyone with information to come forward and are urgently asking anyone who spots the still-missing silver Buick Verona to immediately contact the Special Victims Unit, the official report appeals.
