
The Philadelphia Police are on the hunt for a suspect involved in a late-night shooting on Lansdowne Ave and have turned to the public for help, releasing video footage of the man believed to be responsible for the crime.
According to a release by the Philadelphia Police Department, the incident occurred on March 13, when officers from the 19th District received a distress call reporting a person with a gun. Upon arriving at the scene at around 10:43 pm, they discovered evidence of gunfire and a 19-year-old male victim who had sustained a gunshot wound to the leg. The victim has since been hospitalized and is reported to be in stable condition. The suspect, captured on video moments before the shooting, is seen wearing a light blue puffy coat with a hood.
The video released by the authorities showcases the suspect, described as a male with medium brown complexion and facial hair, in still images that seem to be taken from surveillance cameras near the 5300 block of Lansdowne Ave.
Investigators at the Shooting Investigation Group are spearheading efforts to identify the shooter and have requested that anyone with information come forward. The Philadelphia Police Department, in its continued appeal, stresses the importance of community assistance in apprehending individuals who disrupt the peace and safety of neighborhoods. The department urges those who recognize the individual in the video or have any pertinent information about the case to contact the police immediately.
