
Philadelphia police are on the hunt for a suspect involved in a break-in at a local market in the city's 9th District. According to the Central Detective Division, the burglary took place in the early hours of March 12th at Tela's Market on Fairmount Avenue.
The perpetrator, captured on video surveillance, is described as an unidentified black male. He allegedly shattered the door glass to gain entry into the establishment around 3:28 am, after which he reportedly made off with several bottles of liquor. The suspect was last seen carrying a blue "Aldi" bag, and his attire included a dark hooded jacket adorned with a distinctive graphic on the left chest, left arm, and top of the hood, along with dark pants.
The Philadelphia Police Department has released footage of the incident in hopes that the public can assist in identifying the individual. They have urged anyone with information on the suspect to come forward. The video can be viewed on the official police blotter.
Officials have not released the estimated value of the stolen goods, nor have they speculated on the motive behind the theft. The burglary at Tela's Market adds to a growing list of similar crimes in the area, with local businesses increasingly being targeted.
