In a recent crackdown on child pornography, Pennsylvania Attorney General Michelle Henry heralded the prosecution outcomes for two men involved in such condemnable offenses. One from Philadelphia County has been jailed, while another from Northampton County now stands convicted of 55 felonies.
29-year-old Frederick A. Bost received a sentence of 11½ to 23 months in prison this past Tuesday. The conviction, which dates back to December, came after a young child's indecent photographs were found on his cellphone. According to a statement from the Attorney General's Office, these acts were part of a larger probe into the sexual exploitation of minors. "These crimes are particularly heinous because they involve the sexual exploitation of child victims," Attorney General Henry was quoted as saying.
In another disturbing case, 36-year-old Zebbelin Standish of Northampton County was convicted by jury after a four-day trial. Standish faces a litany of charges: 50 counts of possession of child pornography, four counts of dissemination, and criminal use of a communication facility. Investigators uncovered evidence that Standish had uploaded explicit videos through a social media application.
Upon returning a guilty verdict, the judge in the case increased Standish’s bail to $1 million. The Office of Attorney General, where Senior Deputy Attorney General Michelle Laucella led the prosecution, stated that Standish's sentencing is slated for June 17. Both case revelations underscore a continued effort to shield children from predatory behaviors, a commitment Attorney General Henry reiterated in her remarks.
