Phoenix Parks and Recreation Launches 'Hike Right PHX' Monthly Group to Foster Safe Outdoor AdventuresSource: Facebook/City of Phoenix Parks and Recreation Department

The Phoenix Parks and Recreation Department has officially launched "Hike Right PHX," a monthly hiking group that aims to safely shepherd both novice and seasoned trekkers through the Valley's trails. In a statement obtained by azfamily.com, the department expressed their goal is to help everyone of all skill levels feel comfortable on the trails.

Starting on Saturday, March 9 at 8 a.m. with a kickoff event at the North Mountain Visitor Center, Hike Right PHX will offer an organized hike monthly through January — and not just a wandering meander. Each hike, according to the detailed schedule provided by the City of Phoenix, will feature a park ranger eager to share insights on hiking safety and park system knowledge. Cynthia Aguilar, Parks and Recreation Director, expressed to the City of Phoenix, "We are thrilled to launch Hike Right PHX as a way to promote safe hiking practices to both new and regular hikers in our community."

The initiative is a timely response to the growing popularity of hiking in Phoenix, where trails wind through stunning desert panoramas that have proven to irresistibly draw outdoorsy residents and visitors alike. Hike Right PHX prioritizes education on safe hiking practices and fosters a sense of community among trailblazers of every experience level.

The inaugural hike, already upon us, will surely to quickly fill its ranks with enthusiasts. For those interested, registration is recommended and can be done online.
