
Chaos erupted in the quiet streets of Pflugerville, Texas, when a police chase involving a stolen vehicle climaxed with gunfire and five arrests early Sunday morning. As detailed by the Pflugerville Police Department, the incident began at approximately 4:40 a.m. when officers identified a stolen car and attempted to perform a traffic stop. Refusing to comply, the suspects sped away, leading to a high-speed chase that ended in the Hidden Lakes subdivision, as reported by CBS Austin.
The confrontation reached a critical point when three individuals bolted from the vehicle on foot, instigating a search, the remaining two were quickly secured by the authorities. During this frantic scene, one of the fleeing suspects discharged multiple rounds toward police officers, causing an officer to shoot back, though no one was hit. "Thankfully, no officers were injured," Pflugerville PD stated in a press release according to CBS Austin.
With assistance from the Travis County Sheriff's Office and Round Rock Police Department, law enforcement officials were able to establish a perimeter and subsequently apprehend the trio that had attempted to flee.
