The National Weather Service is forecasting a streak of sunny skies with temperatures reaching the mid-70s today, according to their latest update. This break from the typically moody Pacific Northwest weather is more than welcome as NWS Portland reports a comfortable high of 76 degrees with a soothing north breeze playing at 3 to 6 mph.
After a mostly clear evening with lows dipping around 49 degrees, some changes in the weather will be expected. Tuesday will be mostly sunny, with a high near 72 and a gentle southern wind. By Tuesday night, however, Portlanders can expect the clouds to gather, crowding the sky as temperatures hover around 47 degrees.
NWS Portland has placed a 40 percent chance of rain starting Wednesday afternoon, with highs taking a nosedive to a cooler 59 degrees. The likelihood of rain ramps up to 60 percent come Wednesday night. Thursday's forecast is equally as damp, promising showers and another day with the mercury climbing only to the low 60s.
Wet weather seems determined to stick around for the end of the week, with possibly rainy weather on Friday, and Friday night, and showers persist through the weekend. Temperature highs will range from the upper 50s on Friday to a chillier 53 by Sunday.
