Heartache struck a pet owner in Northwest when their French Bulldog disappeared following the theft of their vehicle early Sunday morning. The car was parked on the 1900 block of 14th Street, Northwest and upon return, it was nowhere to be found, along with the dog named Recardito. Metropolitan Police Department's Third District urges locals to come forward with any information that could help reunite the victim with their beloved 4-year-old pooch.
The incident occurred at approximately 3:01 a.m., and details have been scarce. The victim, upon discovering the theft, was left in a state of distress over the whereabouts of Recardito. An MPDC bulletin appealed to the public for aid, implying that the community's assistance is crucial in a case where every second counts. The police have not yet identified any suspects in the auto theft or provided a description of a stolen vehicle.
French Bulldogs are known for their friendly and companionable nature, which makes this incident particularly distressing. Recardito's owner is reportedly offering a reward for information leading to the recovery of their loyal companion. The specifics of the reward, however, have not been disclosed at this time.
Anyone with knowledge about Recardito's whereabouts or details about the vehicle that was stolen is encouraged to contact the police.
