In a concerted crackdown on illegal firearms and narcotics, San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department unleashed 'Operation Consequences' over a weeklong spree of raids and arrests. From the 900 block of Hawthorne Ave. in Ontario to the stretches of Pierson Blvd. in Desert Hot Springs, law enforcement left no stone unturned in their pursuit of gang-affiliated criminals and unlawful possession of guns.
The sheriff's department, backed by county supervisors' funding, descended upon various hotspots known for criminal activity between March 2 and March 8. Deputies served 12 search warrants, and their campaign netted roughly three pounds of illegal drugs and six firearms—two of which were untraceable ghost guns. The operations led to seven individuals being slapped with felony charges, according to details published by the official announcement.
This strategic move is part of the larger battle against quality-of-life crimes that tarnish local communities. By mobilizing a division specifically targeting gangs and narcotics, and weaving in support from law enforcement partners like the California Highway Patrol and Department of Homeland Security Investigations, San Bernardino aims to restore peace and security.
