Police in San Jose have nabbed a 35-year-old man after a stealthy camera was found hidden in a coffee shop bathroom, capturing graphic footage of customers in compromising positions. The San José Police Department responded to a tip-off on January 31, around 11:30 AM, where they unveiled the devious surveillance setup beneath a sink in the 600 block of Coleman Avenue.
The suspect, identified as San José resident Louie Juarez Jr., is facing multiple charges relating to possession of child pornography and illegal surveillance after investigators retrieved over ninety-one victims on the camera spanning a single day's footage, these victims, aged between 4 to 85, were unknowingly recorded on January 30 in various states of undress, some of them juveniles. The San José Police Department's Sexual Assault Investigations Unit confirmed the disturbing nature of the recordings and the wide range of affected individuals.
Upon securing an arrest warrant and conducting a search at Juarez's residence on March 15, the police made startling discoveries. Alongside the suspect, they confiscated a stockpile of weapons, which included an assault rifle, unregistered firearms, high capacity magazines, as well as additional micro cameras, the San José Police Department detailed in their press release.
Louie Juarez Jr. now faces a litany of charges, among them the illegal installment of a hidden surveillance camera with audio, possession of an assault rifle, and holding high capacity magazines, all items found in his abode and booked into the Santa Clara County Main Jail.
