SeaWorld San Antonio's brand new "Catapult Falls" is making waves as the world's first "launched flume coaster." This aquatic marvel isn't shy about taking riders for a wild ride with a vertical lift elevator soaring to 55 feet and a record-breaking plunge. According to a KENS-5 report, not only does Catapult Falls offer heart-pumping speeds and a refreshing splash, but it's also built on hallowed grounds, replacing the park's original log flume ride, Texas Splashtown.

Chuck Cureau of SeaWorld pointed out, that there's also a designated splash zone "There’s a splash area outside of the ride that if you’re standing there, your loved ones, your friends they’re going to get drenched. SO this ride is perfect for the Texas summer heat!" offering a surprise for unsuspecting bystanders waiting for their adrenaline-junkie friends and relatives to emerge from the watery depths. SeaWorld's 60th anniversary is just on the horizon, and to commemorate it, the park is throwing a party every day from March 21 through 24, promises the daily festivities won't disappoint, and this monumental occasion coincides with the opening of "Catapult Falls" as shared by Ken 5.

"We are the first. This is the first of it’s kind in the world," says Chuck Cureau with SeaWorld in a statement obtained by KENS-5. Those eager to experience this wet and wild coaster will step into one of 11 boats, each seating up to eight passengers, who will then be launched into the action at an exhilarating 30 feet per second.

Originally slated to open last summer, "Catapult Falls" faced delays but is now finally ready to make a splash as Spring Break 2024 approaches.
