Sebastopol Police have ramped up their presence at Analy High School following reports of threats to the institution. An investigation was initiated on Saturday after authorities were alerted to potential threats of violence that had surfaced.
According to the Sebastopol Police Department, the tip came in around 1 PM, sparking immediate action from law enforcement. Officers have interviewed school staff, parents, and students as part of their inquiry. Despite the heightened concerns, the police have determined that these threats are not credible.
In light of the situation, and out of an abundance of caution, the police are not taking any chances. "To ensure the safety to the school, staff, and students," additional officers will be present on campus throughout the upcoming week, starting Monday, Chief Ron Nelson announced.
Nelson emphasized the department's rigorous approach, "We take all threats seriously and perform thorough investigations." The police department has promised to inform the public if there is any new information on the case. According to the department's statement, any developments regarding these threats will be shared with the school and the public.
