Firefighters in Studio City battled an early morning blaze Monday, March 19, at a commercial building on North Cahuenga Boulevard, extinguishing the flames before they could ravage the main business structure. According to the Los Angeles Fire Department (LAFD), crews were dispatched at 05:28 AM to 3787 N Cahuenga Bl, where they encountered a one-story structure with smoke billowing from the rear; the full report can be viewed on LAFD's official website.
The fire began in a detached audio/visual room located behind the main commercial building, but relentless efforts by firefighters stopped the blaze from spreading inside the larger structure, crews advanced with hose lines to attack the flames directly keeping them at bay from the business. It was a total of 34 firefighters who, within a mere 17 minutes, managed to put out the fire without any of the personnel or civilians being hurt during the operation as per the LAFD bulletin.
No injuries were reported in the incident, and the cause of the fire is currently under investigation by authorities. The swift response of the LAFD's firefighters was crucial in preventing what could have been a more devastating fire, potentially affecting surrounding businesses and infrastructure in the bustling Studio City area.
The LAFD deployed several units to the scene including Engines 76, 60, 97, 86, Truck companies 78, 60, 39, Battalion Chiefs 14 and 5, and Rescue Ambulances 76 and 86 displaying a coordinated assault against the menace of the fire, as detailed in their press release.
