
As we march deeper into spring, the nation's capital offers up an array of typical March weather to its residents. The National Weather Service reports that today Washington D.C. will be sunny with a mild breeze, a welcome reprieve after a stint of chillier days. Expect the mercury to rise comfortably to 66 degrees with a light West wind tossing a casual 8 mph.
Temperatures are set to drop tonight to a cool 49 degrees, and the south wind will start to softly pick up between 7 and 9 mph. Clouds are due to make a gradual return, possibly to foreshadow the start of a new week with more mixed conditions.
According to the detailed forecast from the National Weather Service, Sunday keeps the warm trend going with a high again near 66 degrees but with a tad more wind. The West wind is expected to blow at 8 to 13 mph, with gusts possibly shooting upwards to as high as 21 mph.
As we look ahead, Monday will be mostly sunny with a brisk high near 52 degrees and a gusty Northwest wind reaching 7 to 14 mph. Looking ahead to next weekend, a chance of showers is on the calendar for Friday, with a partly sunny day peaking near 59 degrees and a 30 percent chance of rain.
