A drug bust in Thousand Oaks has landed one man behind bars for dealing controlled substances. Ventura County Sheriff's Office reports that its Directed Enforcement Unit (DEU) nabbed 30-year-old Luis Ornelas on March 15th, after a month-long investigation into his activities.
According to the department, Ornelas, a Thousand Oaks resident, was caught with a quantity of narcotics ready for the streets. During the arrest, officers seized the drugs, which were deemed fit for sale. The DEU, consisting of eight detectives dedicated to snuffing out illegal activity in East County, has Ornelas in custody for violating probation, and a charge of HS 11357(b)(1) – Possession for Sale of a Designated Controlled Substance.
In their ongoing effort to combat crime, the Ventura County Sheriff's Office extended appreciation to the community for its support and assistance in crime-solving, emphasizing the value of public partnership.
