Three men were taken into custody following a daylight armed robbery in Perris, as they strong-armed a victim at gunpoint before hightailing it – but not before the law caught up with them, authority representatives said. The Perris Sheriff's deputies zoomed to the 2000 Block of North Perris Boulevard after a 10:35 a.m. distress call on Sunday reported the crime and managed to track down the suspects shortly after they scrammed from the scene.
The investigation into a robbery was taken over by the robbery unit, who took charge of the inquiry and arrested three individuals. The suspects were identified as Deandre Owens, 44, from Ontario, Damar Thedford, 22, from Riverside, and Treyvon Williams, 39, also from Riverside. Moreno Valley's deputies received a tip-off and made the arrest, seizing two loaded guns and stolen property from the victim, who had been threatened with a firearm. Owens faces multiple serious charges, including robbery, possession of a loaded firearm in a public place, and being a felon in possession of a firearm. Thedford has been charged with similar gun possession offenses, while Williams had a pre-existing felony warrant. The Riverside County Sheriff's Office provided this information.
The apprehension of suspects was carried out with precision and speed as deputies from both the Perris and Moreno Valley stations worked together to prevent a potentially dangerous situation from escalating further. The accused are currently in custody at the Cois Byrd Detention Center and await their day in court to face the charges against them.
