A 44-year-old Twentynine Palms man is in custody facing attempted murder and kidnapping charges after a violent altercation left a woman severely injured. The incident unfolded on a recent Wednesday night, triggering a swift response from local deputies who apprehended the suspect, identified as Randy Slaven. According to the San Bernardino County Sheriff-Coroner's Department, deputies received an emergency call on March 21, 2024, at approximately 10:40 p.m. from the 7500 block of Maude Adams Avenue.

Authorities detailed that an argument over Slaven's alleged infidelity escalated when the victim tried to leave the area on foot. The suspect, Slaven, supposedly located her driving around the neighborhood, forced her into his vehicle, and then violently attacked her in their home. The attack included an attempt to suffocate the victim, who sustained serious injuries including a fractured arm, a broken jaw, and temporary loss of vision.
