
Chaos erupted on a Sunnyvale street corner Friday afternoon when several men engaged in what appeared to be a violent confrontation, resulting in two being stabbed. The Sunnyvale Department of Public Safety responded to the scene around 3:25 p.m. at the intersection of Lawrence Expressway and Arques Ave. after receiving reports of a fight, the department announced on their Facebook page.
Responding to the emergency were officers who provided life-saving medical aid to the two adult male victims, discovering the men with stab wounds. After being treated on the scene, the victims were transported to a local hospital and are reported to be in stable condition. The altercation believed to be tied to a "road rage" incident ended with two arrests, according to authorities.
Luis Alvarez was apprehended at the intersection, while the second suspect, Oscar Urbizo was captured later in Redwood City. The pair faces several charges, including assault with a deadly weapon, and have been lodged in the Santa Clara County Jail. The Sunnyvale Department of Public Safety stated there is no longer any threat to the community.
