Clayton County Police have issued a Mattie's Call, Georgia's alert for missing disabled or elderly individuals, in an urgent plea to the public for assistance in locating 45-year-old Bellina Davis, who vanished on Thursday afternoon under distressing circumstances, as reported by FOX 5 Atlanta.
The search intensified after Davis disappeared following a vehicle breakdown around 1 p.m. near the Steak and Shake on Mt. Zion Parkway, and according to her mother, who doubles as her caregiver, Davis became upset, when the car trouble arose and subsequently walked away from the site, this was the last time the mother saw her daughter, a detail given in a statement obtained by WSB-TV.
Davis, described as being 5 feet 2 inches tall, weighing around 150 pounds with black hair and brown eyes, last seen wearing a short-sleeved shirt with glitter, peach-colored jeans, a white hat, a pink watch, and her hair styled in braids, has a mental condition with a functional level akin to that of a 15-year-old, a fact that adds an extra layer of urgency to her safe return.
Authorities and family members are hoping that the community will come forward with any sightings or information, and anyone with insights into the whereabouts of Davis is urged to immediately contact the Clayton County Police Department at (770) 477-3747 or to call 911, to help bring this vulnerable individual to safety, as every minute counts in the quest to locate Davis and reunite her with her worried mother.
