Morez King, a 34-year-old Washington D.C. man, was handed down a decade-long sentence today for his monstrous cache of illicit child content, the U.S. Attorney's Office reported. In a case that uncovered over 10,000 images of child pornography spread across 10 different devices, King, who had a prior conviction for a similar offense, will now face 120 months behind bars.
A federal court saw to it that in addition to the prison term, King will serve 10 years of supervised release and cough up $88,000 in restitution to dozens of his young victims, officials announced. The obscene haul of images discovered depicted the sexual exploitation of very young children, a repetition of his past that he had first been convicted for less than a decade ago.
Law enforcement initially tripped on King's trail in January 2020 when he, operating under the alias "pervboi3" and "xmarcoboi," sent graphic videos of child sexual abuse to an undercover Homeland Security Investigations agent. This interaction led to an HSI and Metropolitan Police Department raid of King's Northeast Washington D.C. home in December 2021. During the raid, they seized a trove of devices including two SD memory cards, four cellphones, and laptops amongst others, saturated with disturbing content.
King's Samsung Galaxy S20 alone contained about a thousand videos of abuse, and his devices were equipped with apps designed to trade images with encryption, like Telegram. Having been served a search warrant, agents recovered a laptop in his residence, that held some 1,800 videos of child sexual abuse alongside the phones with thousands more incriminating images according to the U.S. Attorney's Office.
As the case proceeded, more than 20 victims have come forward with Impact Statements, and 14 have sought restitution, evidencing the extensive damage left in the wake of King's actions which began circulating online, and now, with the court's decree, hopefully come to a halt, as King is set to spend the next ten years facing the consequences of his crimes.
