A deadly encounter unfolded in a West Philadelphia apartment when a woman shot two men she discovered inside her residence, resulting in one fatality and leaving another injured. According to the police, the 31-year-old man was fatally struck in the head and torso, while the second, aged 32, suffered a chest wound before escaping through the backdoor. NBC Philadelphia reported that the incident happened shortly before 2 a.m. Friday on the 6200 block of Chestnut Street.

The situation began when the woman, whose identity has yet to be disclosed, came back to her apartment only to quickly discover it was not empty. After a confrontation ensued, she managed to pull out a gun and open fire on the men. The 32-year-old man was later found at a local hospital, where he remains in stable condition, as police were told. The police continue to seek answers and have not established why the men were inside the apartment, an inquiry that is still ongoing, authorities informed Ground News.

The deceased man was pronounced dead at the scene in the bedroom of the apartment. As reported by 6abc, a total of 13 shots were fired during the fracas, with the woman engaging one of the men in a fight before using her gun. The second man, who turned up at the hospital with a gunshot wound, is being considered a "person of interest" by the police in this case.

The woman, who encountered the two men in what appeared to be an invasion of her space, remained at the scene afterwards and is said to be cooperating with the investigation. Police noted that the woman claimed not to know the individuals who allegedly intruded into her home. They are working diligently to fully piece together the circumstances surrounding this violent incident, according to statements they provided.
