
A West Valley man was taken into custody after allegedly shooting at a Buckeye police officer, during a reported domestic violence incident on Saturday, Buckeye Police Department stated through a post on social media.
Officers responded to the scene around noon in a residential area southeast of Beardsley Parkway and Canyon Springs Boulevard, the vicinity of Copper Canyon Golf Club, upon receiving the domestic violence alert, 12 News reported. The responding officer encountered a man in the backyard of the home and instructed him to come out, instead, the suspect moved out of sight, and shots were fired in the direction of the officer.
No injuries were reported from the incident, and the Buckeye Police Department confirmed that no shots were fired by law enforcement officers at the scene. The suspect, whose identity remains undisclosed, surrendered to the authorities following the arrival of backup officers, KTAR News disclosed.
