
A terrifying encounter unfolded in south Austin last Thursday when a homeowner, identified as Elena Doguet, returned to find a naked man inside her residence. The intruder, Larry Robinson, 45, has been accused of breaking in and subsequently causing a SWAT standoff. Recounting the chilling experience, Doguet told her story, as per CBS Austin.
According to the victim, upon entry, she discovered her house in chaos, with her guard dogs agitated and barking. It was then she encountered Robinson in the living room, completely unclothed and clutching a drug pipe. In a statement obtained by CBS Austin, she said, "I guess I hadn’t heard him come in, because he didn’t have shoes on or any other clothes, so I saw him and was startled and just kind of froze there." In a desperate effort to escape, Doguet attempted to open a window but found it unexpectedly difficult to maneuver.
After the intruder assaulted Doguet with a dog crate and went on to kick one of her dogs, she finally managed to surely open a window and flee the home. According to FOX7 Austin, police later learned about the various weapons and venomous snakes kept inside, escalating their intervention to include the SWAT team.
Robinson, who remained inside during the standoff, is said to have caused extensive damage, assaulting animals and defiling the residence. "While Larry Robinson was inside the home he threw property around the house, punched holes in the wall, kicked dogs that were inside the house, and urinated on the floors," as noted by FOX7 Austin. The suspect was ultimately apprehended by police without harm to officers and now faces a string of charges.
The community has rallied to support Doguet and her family, establishing a GoFundMe page to aid in the cleanup and repairs needed for their vandalized home.
