A young woman is in serious condition after taking a harrowing 25-foot plunge onto the jagged rocks below the popular Sunset Cliffs, authorities said.
The victim, in her 20's, fell on Saturday around 2 p.m. off the coast of Ocean Beach, San Diego, per a report by the San Diego Fire-Rescue Department. The SDFD, via X, applauded the swift efforts of the joint rescue operation that swiftly brought the woman to safety. Her current condition at a local hospital remains undisclosed.

Lifeguards and firefighters worked in tandem, pulling off a coordinated cliffside rescue that culminated with the woman being airlifted from the scene. "This was a fast, efficient, and safe rescue because of teamwork between firefighters, lifeguards, and the (helicopter) crew," SDFD stated in an operation debrief.
The sheer cliffs, a notorious spot for similar incidents in the past, were the scene of today's risky operation. SDFD helicopter 3 took point in the rescue, delivering the injured woman to the care of hospital personnel, details the Times of San Diego.
