Wright County residents are on high alert as they brace for not one, but two snowstorms set to hit the region hard over the weekend. The first storm, expected to arrive Thursday night, March 21, will likely dump two to four inches of snow across the county, according to the Wright County Highway Department. With road crews already out-treating the streets, commuters are advised to proceed with caution.

Nate Helgeson, Wright County Highway Maintenance Superintendent, stated crews are prepping this afternoon for the incoming weather. The storm tonight is forecasted to be fast-moving, wrapping up by Friday morning. "Currently projections are calling for two to four inches of snow – with projections of 2-3 inches in the western portion of the county, and 3 to 4 inches closer to I-94," Helgeson said, according to the Wright County, Minnesota.

As locals dig out from Friday's snowfall, they won't have much time before the next system hits, which could prove to be more severe. This second storm, looming for Sunday into Monday, has the potential to blanket Wright County in a thick layer of snow, significantly impacting travel and daily operations.

"The models are all over the board right now," Helgeson said, as per the Wright County, Minnesota. "They all seem to agree that we’re likely to get six inches or more, but one of the models has us getting 11 inches on Sunday and another 5.9 inches on Monday." He added, that regardless of the exact totals, his teams will be ready. "Either way, we’ll have all our drivers out clearing the roads, but travel Sunday into the Monday morning commute could be pretty rough."
