Wright County is cracking down on DWIs and other criminal activities, as reflected in its latest arrest report which details a cascade of offenses ranging from drunk driving to drug possession. The Wright County Sheriff’s Office arrest report for the period ending March 18, 2024, was publicized, revealing a string of legal infractions mounting up to a considerable tally across the county.
Highlighted in the report, a total of 8 DWI arrests were made, including Caleb Alexis Landaverde Chavez, 22, of Monticello, and Laron Cantrell Powell, 39, of Minneapolis who were both nabbed for 3rd Degree DWI. Illegal substance infractions also painted a grim reality with several 5th Degree Controlled Substance charges, including one against David Richard Moss, 40, of Monticello. Interactions with the law didn't end there, as the likes of Benjamin David Carleton, 44, of Waverly faced charges of Domestic Assault and an additional warrant for Interfering with Emergency Phone Calls.
Driving offenses stretched beyond the influence of intoxicants with multiple arrests for Driving After Cancellation – Steven Thomas Lyden, 61, of Maple Lake, and Samson Dean Weinzetl, 33, of Howard Lake, were two examples within these sober transgressions. There was also no shortage of warrants being served as Phoenix Austin Martinez, 29, of Minneapolis, saw the gavel come down with warrants for 4th Degree DWI and Careless Driving, while a cluster of theft cases swung into Wright County's domain, like Jeffrey Jerrard Clark, 52, of Minneapolis, facing a half-dozen warrants for Theft.
The traffic-related incidents include a varied range: 20 Property Damage Accidents, 6 Personal Injury Accidents, and 6 Hit and Run Accidents signaling an apparent disregard for safety and law, and like a grim tally in the night, 3 Car Deer Accidents were also reported. The week saw the enforcement of other violations as well, with 11 arrests for Underage Consumption and 6 for School Bus Stop Arm Violations illustrating a spectrum of disregard for county and state statutes.
