The Alcoa Police Department is on the hunt for five individuals linked to the vandalism of the Ardmore Apartments, a construction site for a new apartment complex. In a report provided by WVLT, the police arrived at the scene on April 1 after being alerted to the damage inflicted on the property. The vandalism included ruined appliances, smashed light fixtures, and paint spilled across carpets and hardwood floors, resulting in flooding through several apartments.
As per the details given by the Alcoa Police Department, the senseless act was believed to have occurred between 5 p.m. on Friday, March 29 and to promptly have come to an end before 3 a.m. on Saturday, March 30. WBIR noted that the construction workers had left the site before the start of the weekend and security camera footage later captured images of five suspects departing from the premises early on Saturday.
The department is currently reaching out to the community for assistance in identifying the suspects. During the investigation, detectives managed to secure video evidence, however, the fiscal repercussions of the vandalism have yet to be determined. Authorities are working to quantify the extent of the monetary damage.
Any individuals with knowledge concerning either the vandalism or the potential suspects caught on video are being urged by the police to come forward. In a statement to WATE, the Alcoa Police Department implored for information leading up to the incident. They have made an appeal to the public to report any leads to the APD Criminal Investigations Section at 865-981-4111, hopefully to quickly apprehend the individuals responsible for this destructive act.
