Job seekers in Anoka County, mark your calendars for the career networking event of the season. The Anoka County annual Career Fair is rapidly approaching, with doors opening at 10 a.m. on April 10 at Anoka Technical College. The fair, which runs until 2 p.m., is free to the public and welcomes anyone eager to quickly bridge the gap to their next job opportunity.
With numerous sectors represented, from Construction and Trades to Technology and Transportation, attendees are set to meet face-to-face with an array of industry representatives. "Hiring events like this one... offer opportunities to connect with employers and learn about jobs in a way that just isn’t available when you're searching and applying for jobs online," Anoka County Commissioner Scott Schulte told the Anoka County website. He added that being able "to directly ask questions is a definite advantage when it comes to landing a job."
District 4 Anoka County Commissioner Scott Schulte, who also serves on the county’s Workforce Development Board and is president of the Minnesota Association of Workforce Boards, emphasized the benefits of the in-person event. Partners for this year's fair include Anoka County Job Training Center, Anoka County Transit, Anoka Ramsey Community College, Anoka Technical College, and Parent Aware, ensuring a comprehensive range of resources for job seekers. Live radio promotions will be provided by Bob FM with live cut-ins on the day of the event.
Those planning to attend need not worry about parking as additional space is available in the Vista Outdoor lot with a free, conveniently running shuttle service every 15 minutes, starting from 7:30 a.m. to ensure no one misses out. For individuals requiring special accommodations to attend, the Anoka County Job Training Center can be contacted at 763-576-4108 for support. This career fair stands not just as a gathering, but as a launchpad to potentially transform the job market landscape for many, by directly introducing talents to those who are ready and willing to scout and to shape them.
