Chaos erupted on a Needles street as deputies responded to a vandalism call, only to be met with violence. On the morning of April 11, deputies encountered 30-year-old James Boen, an Arkansas man accused of wreaking havoc in the 1400 block of W. Broadway Street, according to the SBSD - Colorado River Sheriffs Department.
Reports detail that Boen had already inflicted damage on local business property when law enforcement arrived. When confronted, the suspect attempted to make an escape on foot but was swiftly apprehended by the officers on the scene. During the arrest, Boen reportedly turned violent, assaulting the deputies in the fray. The melee resulted in Boen facing several charges, including battery on a peace officer.
The suspect is now behind bars at the Colorado River Station jail, with a bail set at $210,000, as per the SBSD - Colorado River Sheriffs Department.
