Bloomington Rewards Organics Recycling Participants with Free Compost at Exclusive EventSource: Bloomingtonmn.gov

Calling all green thumbs in Bloomington! To give back to the community and reward environmentally conscious behavior, the City of Bloomington is offering a perk to residents who are part of the organics recycling program. On May 11, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., those enrolled in the city's initiative can collect up to three bags of compost free of charge, but there's a catch – you've got to be in it to win it.

The giveaway is exclusively for households that participate in either curbside or drop-off organics recycling, according to Bloomingtonmn.gov.

This year's organic reward scheme is a bit different, though. Unlike previous giveaways, only those residents already breaking down their banana peels and eggshells with the city's program can join the compost snatch-up. It's a nudge to get more Bloomington dwellers involved in the beneficial practice of turning waste into something that can enrich their gardens and lawns.

To get your hands on the goods, you'll need to RSVP by May 6. Head over to the official site at BLM.mn/compost and secure your spot, as per Bloomingtonmn.gov.
