Maple Grove, MN turned the scene of a grim discovery on Wednesday afternoon when a body was pulled from a local pond, with authorities now linking the case to a recent missing person's report. According to a release by the Maple Grove Police Department, the report of something suspicious at the pond near 80th Avenue N. and Lakeview Drive came in at about 2:20 p.m., on April 11, 2024.
The Police were quick to arrive at the scene, where they were subsequently joined by the Hennepin County Sheriff’s Office Water Patrol, the discovery was made and alongside them, the Hennepin County Medical Examiner took over to identify the victim and the cause of death. "This case is believed to be connected with our recent reported missing person," Commander Jon Wetternach of the Maple Grove Police Department disclosed, acknowledging they are in touch with the missing individual's family, the community has been punctuated by a sense of loss, and ongoing investigations look to shed further clarity.
