Carrollton officials are looking for some green thumbs up — or down — as they map out the future of the city's outdoor spaces. In a move that's about as refreshing as a stroll through a rose garden, the City of Carrollton is updating its Parks, Recreation, and Open Space Master Plan with a call to arms for its citizens to chime in.
Not one to sit on the bench, Carrollton is charging ahead with plans for revitalizing its parks system, scheduling a couple of public forums where residents can swing by and share their two cents. According to the City of Carrollton, Texas, Carrollton is in the early stages of developing its new Master Plan and eagerly wants to hear from locals on their visions for the city's leafy havens.
Time to set your reminders — the first gathering is slated for Tuesday, April 9, with the starting whistleblowing at 6:30 p.m. and the final buzzer set for 8 p.m. at the Rosemeade Rainforest Aquatic Complex's pool training room. If you can't make that, dribble on over to the Crosby Recreation Center's Trinity Room on Thursday, April 11, same start and end times. Residents are encouraged to dive into discussions and help paint the picture of the city's parks' future.
Those raring to have a say in what the cityscape will look like in their backyards won't want to take a rain check on this. Whether you want more playgrounds, trails, or just a nice bench to park on and feed the birds, this is your shot.
