CenterPoint Energy Launches Gas Line Upgrade in Plymouth, Anticipates Early Summer CompletionSource: CenterPoint Energy - Minnesota

CenterPoint Energy is set to kick off a major infrastructure project replacing natural gas lines that run through the heart of Plymouth, with work starting on April 1 and expected to continue into early summer. Residents along a handful of streets, including Black Oaks Lane N., Comstock Lane N. and Zanzibar Lane N., will see crews from CenterPoint's authorized contractors hard at work updating the old gas mains and service lines as part of an essential upgrade.

According to CenterPoint Energy - Minnesota, the first phase of the project was initiated on April 8, with a team from NPL hitting the ground on 30th Avenue N., and progressing from Black Oaks Lane N. to Comstock Lane N. The crews are aiming to wrap up all of the natural gas work within April, which includes a comprehensive overhaul of gas mains and an update where inside meters will be moved to the exterior of homes by appointment.

Traffic disruptions are expected to be at a minimum, however, some parking and lane restrictions may come into play during the upgrade process. The company notified that this essential service will not bear any cost to residents and that Q3 Contracting will be responsible for restoring any areas disturbed by NPL's work. Local drivers have been forewarned and can expect to see signs primarily around Dunkirk Lane N. guiding them through any potential traffic changes.

Inquiries regarding the progress of these upgrades can be directed to CenterPoint Energy's communication channels. The company has expressed gratitude for the community's patience throughout the upgrades. For more details or to ask questions about the project, residents can reach out to CenterPoint Energy's Communication Specialist Hannah Gullickson at 612-321-5546 or by email at [email protected].
