Residents in parts of New Jersey and Pennsylvania, including Philadelphia, are preparing as the National Weather Service issued a coastal flood advisory, warning of potential minor flooding in vulnerable areas along shorelines and tidal waterways. The advisory, in effect from 9 AM to 2 PM EDT today, mentions up to half a foot of inundation above ground level, according to NWS Mount Holly NJ.

Specifically, areas like Gloucester, Camden, and Northwestern Burlington in New Jersey, along with Delaware, Philadelphia, and Lower Bucks in Pennsylvania are under watch. "At this level, flooding begins on the most vulnerable roads along tidal waterways, some partial or full road closures are possible," stated NWS Mount Holly NJ. This warning came alongside a broader notice of cloudy skies, relatively cool spring temperatures, with highs ranging from the mid-40s to high 60s, as well as chances of showers later in the week.

In Philadelphia, the Delaware River is projected to reach flood stages at 8.3 feet around 11 AM today, which is considered minor flooding. Meanwhile, further upriver in Burlington, the water levels are anticipated to hit 9.7 feet by noon, also resulting in minor flooding. For updated weather information and flood advisories, residents are encouraged to visit NWS website.

While no road closures had been officially reported as of early this morning, authorities are urging commuters to stay alert and be prepared for disruptions. The NWS advises those traveling in the region to allow extra time as some roads may be closed, and never to drive through water of unknown depth or around barricades. Additionally, the weather service stated, "Weather spotters are encouraged to report significant weather conditions according to standard operating procedures."
