Daly City Suspect Charged with DUI and Hit-and-Run Following Manhunt in San Bruno on EasterSource: San Bruno Police Department

Last night, while Easter festivities were in full swing, San Bruno police swapped egg hunting for a suspect chasing after a serious collision led to a manhunt for a DUI suspect. The incident, which took place at the intersection of San Bruno Avenue and El Camino Real, resulted in significant injuries, propelling police into action after witnesses provided information on the fleeing driver.

The San Bruno Police Department, backed by officers from the South San Francisco and Pacifica police departments, swarmed the Bayhill area using a drone and, with assistance from the San Bruno Fire Department to locate the suspects who were attempting to evade law enforcement, they found the individuals embedded in a wooded area along San Bruno Ave. According to a Facebook post by the department, the suspects eventually surrendered and were taken into custody "without incident."

The driver, later identified as a 31-year-old Daly City resident, now faces charges for Felony Hit and Run as well as Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol. His reckless actions prompted a collaborative effort highlighting the crucial role of community vigilance and inter-departmental cooperation in ensuring public safety.

The San Bruno Police Department extended their gratitude to the "great witnesses and assistance of our police and fire partners" that contributed to the swift apprehension of the suspect and the suspect was booked into jail following the ordeal.
