
An ATV rollover triggered a large-scale wilderness rescue operation Sunday evening in northwest Austin near Cedar Park, as emergency crews raced to aid those caught in the accident on rugged terrain. The call came at around 10:10 p.m. on Cow Creek Rd. where multiple first responders, including Travis County EMS, STAR Flight, the North Lake Travis Fire Department, and Burnet County EMS, were dispatched, as reported by CBS Austin.

According to the Austin-Travis County EMS, a possibility of five patients, however after rescuers reached the scene, it was determined that three individuals were involved and the Travis County EMS presence was subsequently canceled, ATVs are not uncommon in this rural stretch, twisting turns, and the dense brush that often ensnare even experienced riders in perilous circumstances.
The situation was grave as one individual was found deceased at the site while another required aggressive resuscitation efforts; STAR Flight inserted a rescuer who along with ground teams worked to extricate and provide immediate medical care to the victims. A second helicopter was dispatched to the location, amplifying the urgent nature of this nighttime recovery, as per the ATCEMS.
