The Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) has stepped in to take charge of a harrowing scene where gunfire tore through the early morning calm, culminating in a double homicide and multiple injuries in Dublin, Georgia. According to a statement from the GBI, chaos unfurled in the 500 block of West Avenue just after 2 a.m. on Sunday, leaving two dead and five others with bullet wounds.
The deadly encounter stemmed from an incident where a vehicle, filled with occupants yet to be identified by authorities, slowly came to stop only to unleash a barrage of bullets randomly into a group of bystanders. In the wake of the tragedy, the victims were identified as Miyori Ellington, 23, and Sacred Brown, 24, both residents of Dublin who were pronounced dead at the scene. The GBI disclosed that the attack also left five others injured, four of whom continue to fight to stay alive in the hospital, their conditions yet undivulged.
No arrest has yet to be made in connection with the murders, leaving a community on edge as investigators scrape together leads. The Dublin Police Department, working alongside GBI agents, has issued a call for the public to step forward with any information that could potentially unwrap this enigma of violence. The GBI regional investigative office in Eastman can be contacted at 478-374-6988, or tips can be directed to the Dublin Police Department at 478-275-0803.
An avenue for tips has also been opened up online through the GBI's official website and via the See Something, Send Something mobile app, hoping to cast a wider net in their search for information.
