A Genesee County woman hit the jackpot after a Tarot card reading foretold a windfall in her future, scoring a massive $500,000 prize from a Michigan Lottery scratch-off game. The 59-year-old lottery enthusiast, who prefers to stay out of the limelight, had her surprising fortune on the same day she was seeking mystical insights.
According to ClickOnDetroit, the woman recounted her habitual routine of buying lottery tickets weekly, usually from the same store. However, on the fateful day, she opted to purchase her tickets from a BP gas station on West Thompson Road in Fenton, a departure from her habit right before her Tarot appointment. "I was told money would be coming into my life very soon," she told reporters.
Much later, at home, the woman scratched off her ticket to discover that what she first thought was a modest win was a life-changing sum. "I saw the star symbol and thought, 'Well, at least I won my money back,' assuming it would be a $10 win," she said, as per Mid-Michigan NOW. "Much to my surprise, I revealed a prize of $500,000! I tried to remain calm, but I knew right then and there this had just changed my life."
After the unexpected win, the woman's plans involve clearing her debt and setting a course for leisure and security. "She plans to pay off her car, take a cruise with her friend and invest the rest of her winnings," ABC12 reported. Remaining winners might still find their stroke of luck, as more than $44 million in prizes, including two more top prizes of $500,000, remain unclaimed in the 50X Wild Time instant game.
