Chaos erupted in a Harris County neighborhood when a routine disturbance call quickly escalated into violence. Deputies from Constable Mark Herman's Office were dispatched to the scene at the 16200 block of Friar Cir on April 23, only to find themselves under assault by an irate suspect already known to the law for similar misdeeds.

The suspect, Desire Charlot, was not a stranger to the officers, having been out on a $1,000 bond for Assault before this encounter. The situation devolved when it was discovered that Charlot had physically assaulted the complainant following a verbal altercation. Attempts to take her into custody turned physical, with Charlot opting to strike an officer squarely across the face—an act compelling enough to see her swiftly detained and charged afresh.

In the wake of the incident, Constable Mark Herman's Office released a statement, detailing the charges: "Desire Charlot was arrested and booked into the Harris County Jail, charged with Assault and Assault on a Peace Officer. Her bond was set at $20,000.00 out of County Court 10 and the 351st District Court."
