
In the early hours of April 1, 2024, a routine traffic stop in Hesperia took a dangerous turn when a convicted felon was found carrying a loaded gun and a significant amount of drugs. According to a press release by the San Bernardino County Sheriff-Coroner Department, Christopher Randolph, 51, was pulled over by Deputy Contreras of the Hesperia Police Department around 1:15 a.m. on Main Street and Hickory Avenue.
Randolph, a resident of Hesperia, who was already out on bail for a similar offense, was discovered with approximately 53 grams of suspected methamphetamine and a loaded firearm hidden in his waistband. His prior charge was also for being a felon in possession of a firearm, which adds a layer of gravity to his most recent arrest, compounding his legal woes, the report details.
Upon further investigation, Randolph was taken into custody and now faces charges including possession of a controlled substance while armed, possession of a controlled substance for sale, being a felon in possession of a firearm, and being prohibited from owning or possessing ammunition. He was booked at the High Desert Detention Center, where he awaits further legal proceedings.
