Holland Pursuit Ends With Man Charged for Domestic Assault, Crashing Car into ResidenceSource: Holland Department of Public Safety

A harrowing domestic dispute in Holland, Michigan escalated into a dangerous pursuit and a deliberate crash into a residence, according to local authorities. Dean Isom, 31, allegedly assaulted his 40-year-old girlfriend at a townhouse complex on April 20 before fleeing the scene and igniting a chase that involved several police departments and ended with his vehicle ramming into a Holland home. FOX 17 reports that Isom is now facing charges, including domestic assault and fleeing police.

The incident began with a distress call to the authorities around 9:30 p.m., when the victim reported an assault by her boyfriend at the Meadow Lanes Townhomes complex, according to WOODTV. Holland's Department of Public Safety later located Isom's car, which promptly sped away, leading officers on a chase on the interstate where he wrongfully used an authorized vehicle turnaround to evade the police. The chase eventually came to a halt due to safety concerns for other motorists.

Despite the aborted pursuit, Isom's travels did not go unnoticed. He encountered law enforcement again when Allegan County sheriff's deputies spotted his vehicle and attempted an intervention, as detailed by FOX 17. Ignoring their attempts to stop him, Isom made his way back to the scene of the initial report, where his destructive return was cut short by colliding with the concrete steps of the townhome complex.

Following the crash, officials took Isom into custody as he suffered injuries likely related to his collision. He was later hospitalized and then booked into jail. The victim, who sustained minor injuries from an alleged assault, sought medical attention on her own, as 13 ON YOUR SIDE reported.
