A woman has been booked for theft after allegedly trying to sneak out with nearly $200 in goods from a Target store, authorities said. The incident unfurled at the retail giant’s location in the 19500 block of the North Freeway, where Harris County's finest responded to a call about a shoplifting suspect on April 21.

According to a Facebook post by Constable Mark Herman's Office, deputies arrived at the scene to find that the suspect, later identified as Crystal Cockerhan, had allegedly concealed merchandise valued at over $189. Deputies claim she attempted to quickly leave the store past all purchase points, without rendering payment for the hidden items.

The merchandise was subsequently recovered and returned to Target, officials said. Cockerhan found herself in handcuffs and was marched to the Harris County Jail. Constable Herman's office declared in their statement, "Crystal Cockerhan was arrested and booked into the Harris County Jail, charged with Theft. Her bond was set at $100.00 out of County Court 11."
