Houston area authorities nabbed a woman on suspicion of theft in a recent crackdown on shoplifting incidents. Harris County Constable's Office detailed the arrest on their official Facebook page, stating that deputies responded to a reported shoplifting event on Kuykendahl Road.
The incident occurred on Wednesday when law enforcement officials were summoned to a store after reports that a female, later identified as Lisa Murray, allegedly concealed items and passed the checkout points without paying. Constable Mark Herman's deputies arrived on the scene to investigate the allegations of retail theft.
According to the Constable's Facebook post, after Murray was apprehended, the stolen goods were recovered and subsequently returned to the business in question. Upon delving further into the suspect's history, deputies discovered that the Murray had previous theft convictions and was wanted on several outstanding misdemeanor warrants.
"Lisa Murray was arrested and booked into the Harris County Jail for the open warrants and charged with Theft. Her bond was set at $500.00 out of County Court 10," Constable Mark Herman stated in the social media update. This arrest marks another instance of the local law enforcement's ongoing efforts to curb petty crimes that affect neighborhood businesses.
