A woman was found shot to death in her car in Houston's Alief area, according to local authorities who are now on the hunt for a suspect described as a man in his forties. The tragic incident happened near 4301 S. Kirkwood at about 1:17 p.m. yesterday.
The Houston Police Department said that the woman, who was alone in her car, was approached by a suspect described by witnesses as heavy-set and about 5'8" in height. The suspect, who drove a white, newer model Jeep Renegade, pulled up behind the victim's car, exited his vehicle, and opened fire, leaving her fatally wounded. Found leaving a nearby church, a witness was able to provide the suspect's description, as reported by Click2Houston.
According to KHOU 11 News, the victim was a 52-year-old woman who was pronounced dead at the scene with multiple gunshot wounds. As of now, the authorities are trying to identify both the victim and the suspect.
The suspect, after initially walking away from the crime scene, returned to shoot the woman again at least twice before fleeing the scene. Investigators have also obtained a surveillance photo matching the description of the suspect's vehicle, which is notable for its black rims. Houston police are appealing to the public for any information relating to the incident and ask that tips be directed to Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.
