Houston police are on the hunt for a hit-and-run driver after a 64-year-old woman was killed in a violent crash on Saturday morning, at approximately 10:45 a.m. The collision occurred at 6300 Ranchester Drive, where the woman's blue Nissan Quest was struck by a white vehicle, leading to her death and injuries to three others.

Struggling for life, paramedics rushed the driver of the Nissan and three occupants of a silver Toyota Camry, which was hit head-on after the Nissan crossed into the southbound lane, to the hospital. Despite their efforts, doctors declared the woman dead after arriving at the hospital. The identity of the deceased is still under wraps, pending a formal verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

The hit-and-run has prompted the HPD Vehicular Crimes Division, alongside Westside Patrol Division officers, to launch an extensive investigation into the incident. Sergeant M. Sudduth has been reported to urge the community for help: "Anyone with information on the wanted driver and/or vehicle is urged to contact the HPD Hit and Run Unit at 713-247-4072 or speak anonymously with Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS," according to the official statement.
