Lynnhurst residents may have to navigate around some sidewalk and parking disruptions this week as five CenterPoint Energy crews begin infrastructure upgrades in the neighborhood. The plan includes boring a small-diameter natural gas main under the southern sidewalk of 48th Street W just east of Emerson Avenue S. and under the northern sidewalk between Bryant and Lyndale Avenues S. These operations will necessitate the temporary closure of affected sidewalks and parking on both sides of the street, though traffic is expected to remain open, according to the CenterPoint Energy - Minnesota.
Additionally, work crews are also set to begin their work on the 4500 blocks of Bryant Avenue S. and Dupont Avenue S. as well as the 5000 block of Girard Avenue S., all starting this week and working north. This essential work aims to not only maintain but also to enhance the area's natural gas service. The work schedule indicates one natural gas crew will typically tackle about one block per week, suggesting a progressive and steady upgrade process throughout the neighborhood.
Preparatory steps for these upgrades involve marking out public utilities, a task for which CenterPoint Energy will coordinate with Gopher State One Call 811. Residents can expect to see sprayed paint symbols and colored flags indicating various utility lines, including water, sewer, and cable, as per CenterPoint Energy - Minnesota. The company advises homeowners with private underground lines, such as sprinkler systems or dog fences, to mark these themselves for visibility and safety during the upcoming work.
For further details or questions about the ongoing work, residents are encouraged to visit the project's dedicated web page or to reach out to the Communication Specialist at 612-321-5546 or via email at [email protected]. CenterPoint Energy thanks customers for their patience during these important infrastructure upgrades.
