
Four individuals face serious charges after the shooting death of a man in Long Beach, with the Los Angeles County District Attorney stepping in, justice seems imminent. The office led by DA George Gascón announced the charges against the suspects connected to the killing of Mario Morales-Moreno, and the attempted murder of four others. The violence erupted near 61st Street and Atlantic Avenue, and has left a community grappling with loss and anger, according to the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office.
Morales-Moreno, remembered as an Army vet and devoted father, was gunned down working in his yard in a daylight attack that also saw bullets flying at four other victims, one of whom sustained non-life threatening injuries, the Long Beach Police lubricated the arrest process, swiftly capturing the suspects and snatching multiple firearms from their possession—efforts that were echoed in sentiments from Long Beach Mayor Rex Richardson and Police Chief Wally Hebeish who expressed their shared mourning and zero tolerance for gang violence in their community. "Our hearts are with Mr. Morales-Moreno's family as they deal with this unimaginable tragedy," District Attorney Gascón said in a statement provided by the media relations division.
The accused suspects—Taylor Byron Woods, Semaj Lamar O'Brien, Jordan Omarion Stokes, and Tyrell DeShawn Louden Jr.—all face one count of murder, four counts of attempted murder, and a count of conspiracy to commit a crime, with bail set at a whopping $8 million each, as reported by the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office.
