A routine traffic stop turned into a high-speed chase last week when a driver refused to pull over for local law enforcement on Kuykendahl Road. The incident led to the arrest of Marcus Joseph after he crashed his vehicle during the pursuit and was cornered by deputies, as per the Harris County Precinct 4 Constable's Office. The chase culminated when Joseph, losing control, crashed into the 100 block of East Airtex.
Officers initiated the traffic stop on April 26, but according to the Constable's Office, Joseph had other plans and attempted to evade law enforcement, triggering the pursuit. After crashing his car, leading deputies in a zigzag pattern, Joseph was taken into custody. Constable Mark Herman's office later released the details of the arrest on their official Facebook page.
"Marcus Joseph was arrested and booked into the Harris County Jail, charged with Evading Arrest in a Motor Vehicle. His bond has not been set at this time out of the 482nd District Court," stated Constable Mark Herman in the post following the arrest. There has been no information provided concerning the reasons behind Joseph's initial traffic stop or why he chose to flee.
