A man has been arrested and charged in connection to a stabbing in Southeast D.C., according to the Metropolitan Police Department. The incident took place in the 1400 block of L Street, Southeast, during an argument on Sunday evening.

In a report released by Metropolitan Police Department, it was stated that approximately at 6:10 pm on Sunday, the suspect allegedly pulled out a knife and stabbed the victim. Following the altercation, the responding officers apprehended the suspect, while the victim, known to the suspect, was taken to a local hospital.

Authorities have identified the suspect as 56-year-old Gregory Lewis, who has been charged with Assault with a Dangerous Weapon (Knife). Lewis, reportedly of no fixed address, is currently in custody over the attack.

The victim, whose identity was not disclosed, sustained injuries described as non-life-threatening. After being transported to the hospital by emergency services, they were treated for wounds inflicted during the heated exchange that turned violent, according to the same MPD announcement.
