A man's life came to a brutal end after a dispute at a San Diego gas station turned deadly. Hoodline reports a 33-year-old Hispanic male was fatally stabbed in the torso during the brawl that unfolded Friday in the Redwood Village neighborhood.

San Diego Police were called to the 5900 block of University Ave at around 1:15 p.m., finding the victim critically wounded with a stab wound. The altercation between the known acquaintances escalated quickly, starting with a punch thrown by the victim at the suspect. Following a fight between the two men, the suspect stabbed the victim. In the incident suffered from head injuries. The suspect was hospitalized and released pending further investigation.

The victim has since been identified as 33-year-old Damien Garcia. After the attack, detailed by witnesses at the scene, he received immediate medical attention before being transported to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
